Milele Home Update

Joseph
He is about to finish his catering course at his vocational school. He has one more final exam before it’s completed. Joseph is a hard worker and has already had three internships at different restaurants/hotels. There are conversations about hiring him at Milele as a cook when he completes his certificate in catering. He would be the first boy to go through the program and be hired by Milele!

John Mose
He is in his second year of hairdressing school, and has one more after this. He is also on the soccer team at his vocation school. He’s worked in two barbershops for his different internships.
He just finished an internship in Eldoret, a larger town, and this month he is returning to school. He’s doing really well living with his grandfather and uncles when he isn’t in school.

Clement
He is doing great! Last week he started his junior year of high school and Milele social workers visited him recently. One other Milele boy (Tom) goes to his school. Clement frequently receives positive reports from the teachers! He still lives with his aunt, uncle, and cousins. Successfully, dad is back in the picture and they have a relationship again! His dad has attended Milele Family days!

Clinton
January 2024 Clinton started his junior year of high school. He attends a high performing school in Kitale, Kenya. Clinton has matured behaviorally and emotionally since arriving at Milele Home. He is extremely tall! He works hard in school and goes in for extra help and support from his teachers. Clinton’s family recently relocated out of Kitale and that was a challenging transition for him and he chose to stay with relatives in Kitale. He recently did some counseling with our staff and agreed to spend the Christmas break with his family in their new location.

US Alliance Group Served at
La Tienda Thrift Store

La Tienda thrift store in San Clemente generates income for the JOSHUA HOUSE program, including recovery, housing, and food costs. The men work at the store building their resumes while in the program. USAG enjoyed working alongside the men: painting, sorting, organizing, cleaning, pricing, working the register, and more.
